To develop the comics reportage “Der freie Platz” [The free place], comic artist Marlin van Soest and I accompanied the soccer team FC Lampedusa in Hamburg, Germany. The reportage can be read in German, English, or Arabic. The work was developed within the “Alphabet des Ankommens” workshop held in 2017 by the German Comics Association with funding from the German Federal Agency for Civil Education.
